According to a report from the Commercial Times, Apple is set to launch its next generation full-sized iPad next month. The report claims that this new iPad is ramping up production this month, and will be ready to ship in October.
Oddly enough, the report mentions that the smaller iPad, the iPad mini, will not be shipping until early 2015.
Several rumors mention the making of a a larger iPad. Specifically an iPad Pro. The most recent rumor claims that this next-generation 12.9-inch iPad will be available early next year. In this scenario, the Commercial Times report matches up.
However, there is no evidence that the next generation iPads are being worked on. And this new strategy does not match up with Apple’s previous launches. Since the introduction of the iPad mini in 2012, both models of the iPad have always been announced together.
From what we know, Apple’s next special event is set in October to launch OS X Yosemite, Apple’s next major desktop software release, new Macs, and update both of their iPad lines. The tablets are rumored to be updated with the Touch ID sensor, A8 processor, and other hardware based improvements.
