How to Send Facebook Messages Without Using Messenger App

A few weeks ago Facebook announced it was going to disable messages inside the main Facebook application. Why? No idea? This would require all Facebook users who send messages to download their Messenger application. So now instead of having one Facebook application users will have to deal with two. And if you are a user of Paper Facebook you may have up to three apps which relate to Facebook alone. As hard pressed as most users are for storage I just don’t think Facebook is thinking about the user. Apparently, they want motte users to download Messenger app.

At the moment there are a couple ways to get around this. Be sure the Messenger App isn’t installed on your device.

1. The simplest and easiest way to use send messages without using the Messenger Facebook app is through Facebook Paper. Paper still allows users to send and receive messages inside the application without the need of Messenger.
2. Go to the iTunes App Store and start the download for messenger. Once it reaches the half point of being downloaded tap pause. Now open your Facebook app up and you should be able to chat with your friends inside the app.

3. This method requires your device to be Jailbroken. If you need to jailbreak your device running iOS 7 and above click here. After you are jailbroken you may continue on with this last tip. Open Cydia nd download FBNoNeedMessenger Cydia Tweak. This is a Free Jailbreak tweak in the BigBoss Repo. Once this tweak has been installed continue using Facebook as always before Messenger was ever thought of.

So as you can see there are three different methods for sending Facebook messages without using Messenger. Several users have stated they do not like Messenger so hopefully Facebook will come to their senses and stop forcing it on us.
