Top 5 Methods To Overcome The Backup Failure On Your iPhone

If you have been using your iPhone for quite a while now, you should understand the importance of regular backups. Making a regular copy of your phone’s content is a guarantee that you won’t lose important files in case of any breakdown. But what if you can’t back up your iPhone? In this article, we are going to share some tips on what to do in such a situation.

What Are The Possible Reasons Of A Failure?

If you happen to see your phone notifying you that it couldn’t complete a backup, this may feel rather frustrating. In such a situation, many users start worrying if their iPhone needs to be repaired and it is a natural fear. However, don’t panic yet! In fact, there could be a few reasons behind this failure and, in most cases, these reasons have nothing to do with the functionality of the smartphone itself. Thus, there are no reasons to worry.

What are the main reasons for the backup issue? First of all, it is worth checking if you didn’t forget to enable automatic backup. You can check this in the iCloud settings of your phone. If you are confident that iCloud Backup is activated, there might be other explanations of the failure. Typically, it is one of the following:• Some server problem occurred• Your Wi-Fi connection was too weak, or there was a problem with connecting a device to the network• You run out of storage space

As you can see, none of these explanations relate to the phone itself, so don’t rush taking it to a service point. Now, let’s see how you can fix these issues.

Option 1: If It Was A Server Problem

In case if the iCloud backup failed due to iCloud server issue, there are a few steps you could take to fix it:1. Sign off and in again to your account2. Restart your smartphone3. Delete the last backup file from your account – to do this go to the iCloud settings from your phone, then go to Storage>Manage Storage>Backups and delete the previous file.

Each of these steps can help you solve the problem, so, after trying each option, don’t forget to check if your phone gets back to normal.

Option 2: If It Was Bad Wi-Fi Connection

Your phone won’t make a copy unless the connection is stable, so you need to check whether it works well. Here is what you could do:1. Reset network settings and then connect back to your Wi-Fi2. Try connecting to a different network

If none of this works, try other methods to fix your phone.

Option 3: If You Are Short On Storage Space

This happens to all users at a certain point because the space provided for free is limited to only 5GB, which is not much. When your storage gets full, you no longer will be able to make iCloud backups. In this case, you only have to options:1. Free up some space by deleting files you don’t need2. Buy extra space

Option 4: Use Computer

If you couldn’t handle iCloud backup failure, the easiest way to solve this issue would be to create a copy using a computer. iTunes is a perfect tool for this purpose. It allows you to create encrypted copies of all your Apple devices and store them on a PC.

Option 5: One More Method

If all of the methods described above failed to help you, you can do it the hard way and restore your phone from the latest backup you have via iTunes. This may fix the problem. However, if you have never done any backups to a computer, you might want to reset your phone with all the content and settings. This would be your last option, and we strongly recommend trying other steps before you do this, as, in this case, all the data from your iPhone will be lost.
