How to use iPhone as Flash Drive for Storage
We have all needed to carry extra files with us in the past. What better way to carry those as to put them on your mobile device. It turns out theres a few different ways to accomplish this task. We always try to find a free way to do things but sometimes it’s not possible. We are going to share a couple apps in the App store and also thew jailbroken way. Which turns out the jailbroken way is the best way.
Windows Users Only:
Download CopyTrans Apps Beta Free
Download FileManager App in App Store. This will allow users to drag and drop most files.
Jailbroken, Mac Users Only
MAC Users will need to read a little further. Try using the jailbroken approach below. Users will first need to add a Repo inside Cydia http://apt.dmytro.me After returning to springboard open Cydia back up and choose the Repo you just installed. Tap on the Repo address and choose to select the USB Drive. This will add the USB Drive icon to your springboard too. Close Cydia by tapping Home button and find the new icon for USB Drive. Tap the icon and it will open. Now you must create a volume on the iPhone storage for using it as USB. Use the slider to set the amount iof space you wish to a lot for the new USB Drive storage. The USB Drive has a couple different settings. We have described each briefly below. Normal users will only need the default setting.
Default:
This is the iPhone default mode. USB Drive doesn’t install daemon application nor modify any USB settings. Picture Transfer Protocol (PTP) is active as well as iTunes synchronization and tethering over USB.
Drive Only:
This mode is to resolve compatibility issues with Windows and iTunes. In this mode USB Drive changes the iPhone’s USB product ID. This will prevent iTunes synchronization, but USB Mass Storage will work on Windows (and other operating systems). Switch to the Default or Drive + iTunes mode will restore iTunes sync.
