Earlier today, Apple updated its selection of apps on their App Store. Along with the change, the company also picked out the new App of the Week they offer as a promotion for their iOS users. The current App of the Week title goes to a puzzle game called Zip-Zap. Prior to getting this recognition, the app was priced at $1.99. But now that it is the App of the Week, Zip-Zap is available for a free download; the first ever since it launched in September last year.
As a puzzle game, Zip-Zap lets its players solve puzzles by putting hinges and levers into place. These are done through a series of well-timed taps on the screen so that each level can be completed. It is a colorful game with mechanical looking animations.
By tapping on the screen, the gears and springs controlling each machine comes to life. When you touch them, they compress against each other and when you release, they expand. These are the very basic controls you need to know so you can let these robots slither through the course and catapult balls across each gap.
Apart from its graphics, the game is actually a physics-based puzzle. There are over 100 levels available on the app, which come with no ads and IAP.
Since the app is currently the App of the Week, you can download it for free on your iPhone and iPad device. The free offer expires next Thursday so make sure you download this app before it does.
