How to install Kodi on your iPhone or iPad without Jailbreak

Kodi is a well known and awesome media player also known as XBMC.  Many people aren’t familiar with the new name but have been using XMBC for quite some time.  There are many different ways to install the software on your device.  We strongly suggest staying away from the one-click method floating around the web now.  It requires the user trust a Vietnamese profile which could be harmful and we don’t know if anything has been changed in the code of the app itself.  There has been lots of speculation about how the profile owner may have changed the code inside Kodi and could be getting personal pieces of information. 

Let the record show, we warned you first, here at iPhonecaptain and ask you to only use the methods we recommend on our site to download Kodi.  We only recommend safe methods or we don’t suggest period.

How ToInstall Kodi (XMBXC) Software Without Jailbreak

1.   Download Xcode or Mac
2.   Download the Kodi deb file here.  We are using version 16 in our tutorial.  This may be newer in the future but the process will not change.
3.   Download iOS App Signer here.  We are using iOS AppSigner version 1.9 at the time of this post.  After you download the iOS AppSigner you will need to unzip the file.
4.   I recommend saving the files to the desktop just tomato them easy to find when you need them in a few moments.
5.   Now you can start the actual process of installing Kodi
6.   Connect your iOS device to your computer using USB
7.   Open Xcode
8. Choose “create a new project” hit next.  Make sure the application is highlighted in the iOS section on the left and click single view.  Now click “next”

9.    Name the file something you can identify it by such as “Kodi”.  The organization section can be something related to your name.  All the other fields should be filled out already.  Just take it one step at a time.  This isn’t a difficult process only a bit longer.  But 100% safe and you don’t have to provide information to anyone you don’t know.

10.  Next, choose a location to save your Git repo to such as the desktop.  This will just make it easy to find.

11.  Xcode will ask to access to contacts.  This seems to be normal with Apple. It’s safe to grant access but not necessary to install Kodi so it’s your choice.  I chose no access.

12.  Most likely you will get an error message but don’t be alarmed.  Just choose “Fix” underneath the message box. Now you will need to sign in with your Apple ID and password.   These must be a working legitimate password and username.

13.  You will need to go back to fix the error and choose a provisioning team.  There should be only one team to choose so it’s pretty self-explanatory here.

14.  Open iOS App Signer.  You should have it saved to your desktop.  Just double tap the icon.  It will open and you add the kodi deb file we downloaded earlier here.  Whatever you named the kodi file earlier should appear in this box.  Click start.

15.  Choose a file name for the save as name here and you should be well on your way to installing Kodi.

16.  Now open Xcode and select window > devices choose your iOS device from the left side of the screen.  On the bottom righthand side of the same screen, you will see a “+” sign click this.

14.  Find the IPA file that was generated in previous steps and open it.  It will take 10-15 seconds for the Kodi app to install after you click it.  Now you should see it listed in the installed apps section.

15.  Now you can unplug your iOS device from the computer. You can unlock the device now and you should see the Kodi icon on the screen somehwere.

16.  Try to open the Kodi App.  If you get an untrusted profile error and the app doesn’t open you will need to trust the profile in settings > general > devices management.  Here you will need to trust the profile.

17. Now you can Enjoy Kodi and all its glory.  See you made it until the end.

TuTuApp.vip has the Kodi app available in their store for free.  However, at the writing of this post it did not work.  We may add this option in the future when it comes available.  This method only involves tapping a couple buttons and is so much easier.  So unless you are a hard core Kodi fan I would recommend waiting.  But this tutorial does work 100%.  These are the steps we used to install Kodi on our own personal devices today.  Need anty help just drop us a comment.
