Many of you might have been using the Chrome Downloader Plus developed by Jalal Ouraigua that allowed user to download files from google chrome on their iDevices. If you prefer Safari web browser over Google Chrome than this new tweak Safari Downloader+ by the same developer offers the same functionality that support Safari web browser.
Once you have installed this tweak, open your safari browser and you will find a blue download tab next to a new page tab. So when you visit a web page where you want to download something, tap on the download button and a new page pops up showing the details of the file content. You can change the destination of the files being downloaded and it also displays a progress bar to give you a cue how long will it take.
Once the file has been downloaded, you can tap on the file downloaded and you’ll get an iOS 7 like share sheet which displays the option, AirDrop is included also. The options are: preview (preview the downloaded file), clear only (removes the file from download manager but doesn’t delete it), delete from disk (deletes the file) and open in for launching the file in various applications.
Along with file downloading, this tweak also supports downloading youtube video. When you visit the mobile site of youtube, a button appears on the site where you can freely move it. If you want to download a video, select the video and double tap on the button to select the quality of the video you want to download. Select the quality you want and then you will be navigated to a confirmation page showing the video you want to download and the quality. Here you can select the destination of folder to save the video.
Once downloaded you can click on the information button in blue on the right side of the file downloaded. It will display the iOS 7 share sheet. You can use airdrop, open the video in other applications, save the video, import the audio to music library, import the entire video to your video application,or delete it from your disk.
In the preference pane, you can enable or disable youtube video downloading, enable or disable downloading files from the sites, enable or disable auto detecting MIME types, enable or disable downloading certain types of files and choose the number of downloads to happen simultaneously.
This tweak has lots of features in which the stock Safari fails to provide and these features are really easy to use and it is something that we all require. This tweak is available on Cydia for $3.50. Give it a try.
